The upgrade included investment in the following state of the art technology:

  • Electromagnetic Core Imperfection Detection (EL-CID)
    • Core Integrity testing.
    • Operates at only 4% of normal operating flux.
    • Measurement results are digitally recorded.
  • Adwell Digital Wedge Tightness Detection
    • Electronic stator wedge tightness detection
    • Consistent results and repeatable test procedure.
  • Core Loop Testing to 300 amps
  • HV Testing to 100kV DC and 50kV AC, 2 amps

This equipment has been put to use immediately as well as existing test assets on the factory clearance testing of 430MVA generators, in 2 major Australian utilities.
