Our quality data and analysis helps you make timely, accurate decisions
Business operations that rely upon critical electrical assets have an enormous responsibility. They must ensure optimal performance through timely and effective decision-making for maintenance, management and replacement planning and strategies. We have been advising many of Australasia’s largest businesses on effective strategies for over 20 years.
Providing certainty
Our specialist engineers have extensive industry experience covering a diverse range of field inspections including commissioning tests, high voltage tests, partial discharge tests, on-site tests and inspections, on-site refurbishment and motor services. Data collected is expertly analysed, reported and advised to you focussed on prolonging the health and performance of your critical assets. We also provide continuous monitoring and online solutions.
A wise approach
Established in Newcastle over 25 years ago, machinemonitor® has grown to be one of Australia’s premier independent advisors on electrical assets servicing our customers in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific from local offices in Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Hamilton (NZ).

Looking ahead, we’re zeroing in on a smarter, data-driven future with solutions like OptMonitor — our 24/7 online monitoring and analytics platform. OptMonitor brings together continuous real-time data, historical diagnostics, and human expert engineering analysis to give you a full, always-on view of your high-voltage assets.
We continue to develop and improve our other analytics platforms such as RiskMonitor and TxAnalyser, that turn decades of manual testing and inspections into actionable insights — helping you spot trends, predict issues before they emerge, and plan maintenance with confidence.
Ultimately, we’re moving towards seamless data and expert analysis to deliver less unexpected downtime, safer assets, and smarter maintenance decisions that extend asset life while reducing total cost.
Embracing the Future
24th Machines Conference returns in June
Practical solutions for HV engineering and asset management
The 24th annual Machines & HV Assets 2026 conference - 10 & 11 June 2026 - will deliver practical insights and technical expertise for electrical engineers, reliability and asset managers, and anyone with responsibility for rotating machines or HV assets. This year’s program dives into predictive maintenance, power system modelling, HV safety innovations, and the integration of new technologies such as synchronous condensers, superconductor cables, and AI-driven diagnostics. Attendees will gain actionable strategies for reducing downtime, mitigating failures, and optimising asset performance.
Join us and engage in expert-led discussions, explore real-world case studies, and collaborate with industry peers. Be part of the conversation shaping the next generation of HV asset management and electrical engineering innovation.
The legendary Machines Dinner is included in the ticket price in 2026 once again.
The history of the Machines Conference
Founded in 2002 by the training division of machinemonitor® (Austorque), Machines Conference - now Machines & HV Assets - was established to fill a critical gap in electrical asset reliability and maintenance education.
At the time, professionals managing rotating machines, transformers, and HV assets had limited opportunities to exchange knowledge, adopt emerging technologies, and develop best practices.
Over the past two decades, the conference has grown into Australia’s leading practical event for electrical engineers and asset managers, driving discussions on predictive maintenance, HV safety, and digital asset monitoring.
From 2023, after a Covid hiatus, Machines Conference partnered with Australian Energy Week (AEW) to become a ‘conference within a conference’; replacing AEW’s engineering stream. Now with a new name, prestige Melbourne location and thoughtful program, the Machines & HV Assets Conference has maintained it’s close industry ties and peer-to-peer practical focus.
Today, the 24th Machines & HV Assets Conference remains at the forefront of industry innovation, technical excellence, and professional development, shaping the future of critical electrical infrastructure management.
